Weekly Market Report

August 24, 2026 by

For Week Ending August 15, 2026

The housing market continues at a slow pace this summer. Mortgage rates offer little relief to buyers, with the 30-year fixed -rate mortgage averaging 6.67% as of August 13, according to Freddie Mac. This is up from 6.58% a year ago, but slightly down from the prior week when it was 6.69%. Buyers are also fighting higher prices at the pump and the store, which limits home purchasing power.

In the Twin Cities region, for the week ending August 15:

  • New Listings increased 4.5% to 1,563
  • Pending Sales increased 1.2% to 1,046
  • Inventory increased 9.0% to 11,805

For the month of July:

  • Median Sales Price increased 3.4% to $408,238
  • Days on Market remained flat at 40
  • Percent of Original List Price Received decreased 0.2% to 99.1%
  • Months Supply of Homes For Sale increased 7.1% to 3.0

All comparisons are to 2025
